SBT solidifies second‑place TV ratings with new telenovela reruns and Sunday shows

Brazil's Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão (SBT) announced that its afternoon slot will feature reruns of the telenovelas “A Desalmada” (2019) and “O Que A Vida Me Roubou” (2013). The two series will replace the current soaps, debut in August, and are part of a schedule overhaul that the network links to higher viewership during the FIFA World Cup and to celebrate its 45th anniversary.

In the weekend lineup, SBT maintained its vice‑leadership in audience share. “Domingo Legal” and “Programa Silvio Santos” posted strong ratings in both São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with the latter reaching 6.35 points on average in São Paulo and 6.36 in Rio, well ahead of the third‑place channels. The Sunday programming secured significant margins across multiple time blocks, reinforcing SBT’s position as the second‑most‑watched network in Brazil’s major metropolitan areas.
