Scaleway to launch first non-French AI supercomputer in Sweden

Scaleway, the AI and cloud subsidiary of the French group Iliad, has announced the installation of its first commercial AI supercomputer outside of France, located in Sweden. The announcement was made during the Ai-Pulse 2026 conference in Paris.

The new infrastructure is built using AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs and utilizes the open-source AMD ROCm software. This project aims to provide high-performance computing capabilities to European startups, AI specialists, and large enterprises, offering a variety of computing architectures to support large-scale AI training and inference workloads.

By deploying this technology, Scaleway intends to bolster European technological sovereignty and provide an alternative to dominant market players. The move follows a previous partnership between Scaleway and Tele2 in Sweden established in May.
