Scarlett Salice disappearance: New evidence analyzed by police

Authorities and volunteers are revisiting the case of Scarlett Salice, who disappeared six years ago while hiking in the Southern Black Forest. New developments include the discovery of a zipper in a dried riverbed, which the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) is currently analyzing to determine if it matches the model on her missing backpack. The investigation is expected to take several weeks due to the prioritization of more recent criminal cases.

Private volunteers from the association ‘Finderwille’ recently conducted a search using approximately a dozen tracking dogs. The dogs alerted to scents near the Wildensteinstein rock, though experts noted this area is off the main Schluchtensteig trail where Salice was last seen.

Salice’s father, Ralf Salice, expressed a desire for certainty, stating that while any outcome is difficult, knowing whether his daughter died in an accident or was the victim of a crime is his primary concern. He noted that ‘a crime would be the worst’ and expressed gratitude for the volunteers who have become like friends to his family during the long period of uncertainty.
