Crvena zvezda suspends Aleksandar Katai and reshuffles coaching staff

Crvena zvezda coach Albert Rijera has suspended star player Aleksandar Katai for two matches following a disciplinary incident. The suspension occurred after Katai reacted poorly to being substituted during a match against Radnički Niš. The club stated that no individual is above the team and that club hierarchy must be respected. Katai is expected to miss upcoming domestic and European fixtures, including a match against Lugano, though he continues to train with the squad.

In addition to the player suspension, Rijera has implemented changes within the coaching staff. Physical trainers Nikola Perišić and Marko Vasiljević have been removed from their roles as the coach seeks a different approach to player conditioning. The club is expected to appoint new specialists following upcoming European commitments.

Separately, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a bus carrying the FK Famos football team and staff veered off the road while traveling to Goražde. While several players sustained minor injuries and the team experienced significant shock, no serious injuries were reported. The match between Goražde and Famos has been postponed due to the accident.
