School bullying and physical assaults reported in Argentina and Peru
Separate incidents of school bullying and physical aggression involving female students have been reported in Argentina and Peru.
In Concepción del Uruguay, Argentina, a 13-year-old student at the Escuela Normal Superior ‘Mariano Moreno’ was allegedly subjected to ongoing harassment and a physical assault on September 16. According to a police report filed by the student's mother, a classmate pulled the girl by her hair and struck her in the abdomen. The family has criticized the school's response, claiming they were not immediately notified of the incident.
In Carabayllo, Peru, a 15-year-old student at the Institución Educativa José María Arguedas was reportedly attacked by four classmates inside a classroom on September 15. Video footage captured by other students shows the teenager being surrounded and struck. The victim sustained a head injury and required medical attention and evaluation by the Institute of Legal Medicine. The family has reported the case to local authorities and the UGEL 04 educational district.
