School charity initiatives in Brazil serve over 400 children
On Saturday, August 1, 2026, a health‑focused school program in Londrina provided eye examinations and free glasses to about 150 children up to ten years old. The Hoftalon nas Escolas project, a partnership between the Hospital de Olhos and the Londrina municipal education department, screened the children at Escola Municipal Tereza Canhadas Bertan and offered professional ophthalmologic assessment using the Snellen chart.
The same day, the Colégio Poliedro in São José dos Campos hosted the Hamburgada do Bem, a volunteer‑run event that offered recreation, educational activities and dental care for roughly 300 vulnerable children from local social institutions. Around 200 volunteers, including students, parents and staff, prepared meals, managed logistics and documented the day’s activities.
