School health drives vaccinate 19,000 Chilean children and screen 1,100 Argentine students

In the Ñuble region of Chile, health authorities launched a school‑based vaccination campaign that will inoculate 19,042 students from first, fourth and eighth grades at 320 schools in 21 communes. The effort, led by the regional health and education ministers and the director of the local health service, targets diphtheria‑tetanus‑pertussis, HPV and other preventable diseases, with a goal of achieving 90% coverage. The first dose was administered at Colegio Concepción in Chillán.

In Argentina’s La Costa district of Buenos Aires Province, more than 1,100 primary‑school pupils received free medical, dental, eye and nursing examinations under the municipal “Salud Escolar” program, part of the broader “Cuidar la Vida” initiative. Teams conducted weight, height, blood‑pressure measurements, oral and visual checks and verified vaccination records. The program, which began in April, covered several schools and will expand to additional institutions after the winter break.
