Schwerte to host 22nd annual hospice charity run

The 22nd Schwerter Hospizlauf, a charity run held under the motto ‘Laufen für das Leben’ (Running for Life), is scheduled for Sunday, September 20. The event will take place in the city center of Schwerte from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Participants, including runners and walkers, will complete laps on a 740-meter course that passes through Postplatz, Senningsweg, Poststraße, Bahnhofsstraße, the city park, and Eintrachtstraße. For every lap completed, a donation of 1.50 euros is requested.

The proceeds benefit the Schwerte Hospice. According to the Hospiz-Initiative Schwerte, while 95 percent of the stationary hospice is funded by statutory health and long-term care insurance, the remaining 5 percent must be covered through donations.
