Schwerte annual hospice charity run

Overview

The 22nd annual Schwerter Hospizlauf, themed ‘Laufen für das Leben’ (Running for Life), is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, in the city center of Schwerte. The charity event features a 740-meter course for runners and walkers, with a requested donation of 1.50 euros per lap to support the Schwerte Hospice. While 95 percent of the stationary hospice is funded by insurance, donations are required to cover the remaining 5 percent of costs.

Due to the event, several road closures and public transportation diversions will be implemented in the city center. Closures include Bahnhofstraße, Rathausstraße, Gasstraße, and sections of Eintrachtstraße and Kuhstraße. Public transport lines, including DSW21 and VKU services, will bypass certain stops such as ‘Schwerte Sparkasse’ and ‘Schwerte Post’, with the Schwerte station serving as a replacement for several routes.
