Science and technology events promote STEAM learning in Romania

Various science and technology events recently took place in Romania, focusing on interactive learning and STEAM education for youth.

In Râmnicu Vâlcea, the sixth edition of the Științescu Vâlcea Science Fair was held at River Plaza Mall. Organized by the Vâlcea Community Foundation, the event featured over 20 interactive STEAM activities. The initiative aimed to move beyond traditional classroom formulas by encouraging curiosity, creativity, and experimentation. The Vâlcea County School Inspectorate supported the event, noting its role in bridging the gap between formal schooling and community-based non-formal education.

In Brașov, the Researchers' Night attracted over 5,000 visitors to the Research-Development Institute of Transilvania University. The event included robot demonstrations, mobile laboratories, and virtual reality experiences that reconstructed historical landmarks such as the Black Church and Strada Sforii. Participants also engaged with educational exhibits from Brașov Zoo, which highlighted the 'Zoo LIFE Pollinators' European project focused on protecting wild pollinators and their habitats.
