Science festivals in Romania to showcase youth research projects
Various science-focused educational events are scheduled across Romania to engage youth with research and experimentation.
In Pitești, the Romanian Science Festival will host an exhibition in the City Hall Square on September 18, 2026. As part of the Young Researchers program, 46 high school students will present 23 research projects spanning disciplines such as astronomy, biology, medicine, physics, psychology, economics, and mathematics. These projects were developed over three months under the guidance of mentors from Romania and the academic diaspora.
In Cluj-Napoca, the USAMV Cluj-Napoca campus will host European Researchers' Night on September 25, 2026. Organized under the European RE-NOURISH project, the event features interactive demonstrations, artificial intelligence showcases, and scientific quizzes. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic research and the public, specifically targeting high school students through hands-on laboratory experiences and direct dialogue with researchers.
