Scientific research highlights lifestyle habits for longevity
Scientific research suggests that limiting age-related cell death could potentially extend human life up to 194 years. While genetic and biological aging cannot be fully stopped, specific lifestyle habits can prevent premature cellular aging and support healthy longevity.
Key recommendations include maintaining physical mobility through activities like sitting and rising from the floor, which helps preserve balance and coordination by working the legs, hips, and pelvis. Experts also suggest regular moderate aerobic activity, such as Zone 2 exercise (maintaining heart rate below 70% of maximum), rather than intense workouts.
Dietary habits play a significant role; studies of individuals who reached age 70 without chronic diseases show a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, and legumes, with lower consumption of trans fats, processed meats, and sugars. Additionally, maintaining oral health is crucial to prevent chronic inflammation, and avoiding prolonged sedentary behavior by standing up every 30 minutes is recommended for long-term health.
