Scientific studies show mixed results for anti-aging supplements
Scientific research is increasingly examining the biological plausibility and practical benefits of dietary supplements aimed at improving mobility, muscle strength, and vitality in aging populations. Studies on various formulations have yielded heterogeneous results regarding their effectiveness on biological aging.
In model organism tests using C. elegans, the product V14 Daily Reds by Youth&Earth improved mobility but did not consistently extend lifespan, while AG1 was observed to reduce movement. Conversely, Avea Life’s Colgevity showed a lifespan increase of between 6% and 27% in worm trials; a corresponding human observational study reported a reduction in biological age by 1.37 years after six months. However, Qualia Senolytic showed no significant changes in primary markers among a study of 69 adults aged 45 to 79.
A comprehensive review by Haleon, analyzing 19 meta-analyses involving over 5.5 million participants from 2000 to 2025, concluded that while multivitamins may offer selective health benefits, there is no proven clear reduction in mortality.
