In Tay Ho Ward, Hanoi, a fire at a four-story residence on Thuy Khue Street resulted in five fatalities. The incident occurred in the early hours of September 16. Simultaneously, heavy rainfall has triggered significant flooding and landslides. In Northern Vietnam, rivers in provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ninh Bình have exceeded alarm level 3. Over 2,000 homes have been flooded, with Ninh Bình and Nghe An reporting the highest numbers of affected households. In provinces like Lao Cai, authorities are actively evacuating residents from areas at risk of flash floods and landslides.

In Hanoi, the intense rainfall has caused urban flooding, disrupting transportation and forcing schools to adjust teaching schedules to ensure student safety. The city has deployed 36 pumping stations and various flood control measures to manage rising water levels in residential and urban areas.
