Scot MacDermid wanted Canada-wide for child abduction

The Edmonton Police Service has issued a Canada-wide warrant for 42-year-old Scot MacDermid following the alleged abduction of his two children. MacDermid is facing two counts of abduction in contravention of a custody order.

MacDermid and his children, nine-year-old Lesley and six-year-old George, were last seen on August 28, 2026. They were initially spotted in north Edmonton before being seen later that evening in Lloydminster. While their exact location after Lloydminster is unknown, authorities suggested they may have been seen in Saskatchewan or Manitoba.

MacDermid is described as five-foot-five, weighing 160 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. Six-year-old George is described as four-feet-two-inches tall, weighing approximately 45 lbs., with short, curly brown hair. Police stated that while an Amber Alert was not issued after assessing the available evidence, locating the children remains the top priority.
