Scots College students face court over alleged sexual assault
Three male students from the elite Scots College in Sydney are facing court proceedings following allegations of a gang sexual assault against a 14-year-old girl. The incident is alleged to have occurred in an alleyway in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on the evening of July 22.
The accused, aged 13 and 14, appeared at the Surry Hills Children’s Court. Due to their ages, the identities of both the suspects and the victim are legally suppressed. However, the court heard that some names had been leaked in online comment sections, leading Judge Sue Duncombe to warn about the repercussions of the intense media attention.
Scots College confirmed the students are under investigation and stated they are cooperating with the NSW Police. During previous police actions, including the execution of search warrants, electronic devices and replica firearms were seized. The teenagers were previously released on bail under strict conditions, including curfews and contact prohibitions.
