SDRF rescues two men after vehicle overturns in Rishikesh river
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rescued two young men on Monday night after their vehicle overturned in the swollen Bin River near Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. The incident occurred along the Rishikesh-Haridwar-Chilla Barrage Road when the vehicle lost control and was swept downstream, eventually becoming lodged against a stepped dam.
Rescue operations were complicated by torrential rain, darkness, and strong water currents. SDRF personnel first located one victim sitting on top of the vehicle and used ropes and specialized equipment to pull him to safety. Following this, the team conducted several attempts to reach a second individual who was trapped inside the vehicle calling for help. Both men were successfully extracted and transported to a hospital for treatment.
