SDSM claims Serbian media network is operating in North Macedonia

The Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) has raised concerns regarding the operation of media outlets belonging to a Serbian media network within North Macedonia. During a press conference, SDSM spokesperson Bogdanka Kuzeska claimed these outlets are operating in a suspicious manner.

Kuzeska specifically highlighted the presence of Euronews Macedonia at a government press conference, questioning how the outlet is permitted to attend official events if it has not yet received a formal working permit. The SDSM alleged that the government of Prime Minister Mitkovski is treating these entities as established television stations despite ongoing investigations.

While it was previously reported that the Financial Police had opened a case and the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services (AVMU) had suspended proceedings, the SDSM questioned whether these investigations have been halted or are being conducted covertly. The party characterized the influx of these media outlets as a source of anti-Macedonian and anti-EU propaganda.
