Sean Tiessen manslaughter trial concludes testimony in Rossland
Testimony has concluded in the Rossland Supreme Court regarding the manslaughter trial of 47-year-old Sean Tiessen. Tiessen is accused of the manslaughter of 33-year-old Joshua Lockwood during an incident that occurred after midnight on April 16, 2023.
Tiessen, who had been living with Lockwood and Lockwood’s girlfriend, Keera Roberts, for only a few weeks prior to the shooting, is claiming self-defence. During cross-examination by Crown prosecutor Bryan Pankoff, Tiessen detailed how the living arrangement began via a Facebook post seeking roommates to help oversee his property following an SPCA complaint.
Tiessen testified that he quickly realized the arrangement was a mistake, citing issues with noise and difficulty collecting rent from the couple. He also noted awareness of police presence at the residence prior to the fatal event, though he claimed he was initially unaware of any drug use by the roommates.
