Search and rescue operations conducted in Austria and Italy
In Austria, a large-scale search operation was launched to locate a 51-year-old man who had been missing since midday. The mission, coordinated by Rettungshunde Niederösterreich, involved numerous organizations including the police, Red Cross search dogs, drone teams, and a police helicopter. A search group consisting of members from the Red Cross and Rettungshunde Niederösterreich successfully located the man in a small hut using a search dog. Following initial medical care on-site, the individual was transported to a hospital.
In Italy, emergency services conducted a joint training exercise in the alpine terrain near Aldein to simulate the search for a missing family of four. Approximately 80 personnel participated, including mountain rescue services from the CNSAS provinces of Bolzano-South Tyrol and Trentino, the Financial Police mountain rescue, the Aldein volunteer fire department, and civil protection. The exercise focused on coordinating search sectors and information management near the Schönrastalm area to improve inter-provincial cooperation.
