Search operations launched for missing persons in Puerto Palomas

Authorities and humanitarian groups have launched an inter-institutional search operation in the Puerto Palomas de Villa community, located in the Ascensión municipality near the border. The operation, led by the State Investigation Agency (AEI) and local and national search commissions, focused on the Ejido Ley 6 de Enero area and the Modelo neighborhood.

A group of 12 mothers from the neighboring state of Sonora joined the search efforts, collaborating with police and justice agencies to track clues. This cooperation addresses a decade-long trend of individuals from Sonora disappearing in the border region. During the operation, brigades distributed investigation notices in high-traffic areas and businesses to increase visibility of the missing persons and encourage anonymous tips from the public.
