Search operations underway for missing youth in Karangasem

Search and rescue teams are continuing efforts to locate a young man from Klungkung who went missing at Bukit Asah Beach in Karangasem. The individual reportedly lost his balance and slipped from a coral cliff while fishing with two companions at approximately 09:30 WITA on Monday.

Despite attempts by his friends to reach him with a bamboo pole, the strong currents swept him away. The Denpasar Search and Rescue Office deployed seven personnel from the Karangasem post, alongside local residents and Bakamla RI, to conduct searches via rubber boats and land patrols along Pasir Putih Beach.

As the search expanded, teams utilized an Aqua Eye underwater scanner to identify the victim near the site of the accident. While weather conditions remained favorable, the initial search concluded on Monday evening without success. Operations are scheduled to resume the following morning.
