Missing persons incidents in Indonesia

Overview

Search and rescue operations have been initiated following separate incidents involving missing individuals in Indonesia.

In West Java, two fishermen fell from the vessel HD Jaya 101 in the Ciwidig waters near Cidaun during rainy and foggy weather on October 24. While one individual reached the shore, a 24-year-old operator remains missing. Basarnas Bandung is coordinating search efforts with local police and volunteers.

In Bali, a 21-year-old man went missing in Karangasem after reportedly slipping from a coral cliff at Bukit Asah Beach while fishing. Despite attempts by companions to assist him, strong currents swept him away. Search and rescue teams, including personnel from the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office and Bakamla RI, have utilized rubber boats, land patrols, and an ‘Aqua Eye underwater scanner’ to locate the individual. Operations have continued through the following days as teams search the area near the accident site.
