Seaspac promotes professional gastronomy training
The Department of Employment and Income, part of the Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance, Protection, and Community Affairs (Seaspac), is conducting a gastronomy course aimed at professional qualification. The program seeks to promote financial autonomy for participants, including individuals referred through social assistance centers (CRAS and Creas) and municipal employees.
Led by chef Juan Ben-Hur, the training covers essential culinary skills such as basic cooking, cuts, base sauces, fresh pasta making, and various cooking techniques including frying, roasting, and steaming. Mônica Thompson, head of Seaspac, noted that the training is intended to foster entrepreneurship and improve food production services for vulnerable populations, including the elderly and those experiencing homelessness.
