Seattle Seahawks did not offer Kenneth Walker III a contract
Reports indicate that the Seattle Seahawks did not engage in serious contract discussions to retain running back Kenneth Walker III prior to his departure in free agency. While much of the offseason debate centered on whether the team should have prioritized Walker over other players like Rashid Shaheed, league sources suggest the team never formally attempted to bring the former Super Bowl MVP back.
Walker, who earned Super Bowl MVP honors after a 135-yard rushing performance in Seattle’s victory over the New England Patriots, has since joined the Kansas City Chiefs. Since his move to Kansas City, Walker has led the NFL in rushing yards and is currently a candidate for AFC Offensive Player of the Year. His upcoming return to Seattle for a Sunday Night Football matchup provides an opportunity to face the franchise where he spent his first four seasons.
