Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori placed on PUP list

Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori has been placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list as he recovers from ankle surgery performed in early July. Head coach Mike Macdonald stated that the team is not setting a specific timeline for his return, noting, “We’re not sure on Week 1 yet.”

Emmanwori, a key playmaker at the nickelback position, is expected to miss the remainder of the preseason and potentially the start of the regular season. To address his absence, the Seahawks are evaluating several defensive backs for the slot role, including cornerback Noah Igbinoghene and safety D’Anthony Bell. Coach Macdonald also highlighted the team's depth, mentioning that Devon Witherspoon remains a top option in the secondary.
