Dejan Joveljic has transferred from Sporting Kansas City to the Seattle Sounders for a reported $6 million fee. The striker, who recorded 26 goals and five assists in 55 matches for Sporting KC, has signed a contract with Seattle through 2030, with an option for an additional 12 months.

Seattle Sounders management expressed high expectations for the striker to bolster their offensive capabilities following recent struggles in league play. Sporting Kansas City President of Soccer Operations and General Manager David Lee stated that the cash-for-player trade was a strategic decision to acquire General Allocation Money (GAM), which will be used to reinvest in the roster and support the club’s long-term vision for competitiveness.
