Seattle woman attacked and bitten in random downtown assault

A woman in downtown Seattle was hospitalized following a violent, random attack in which a suspect allegedly bit a piece of flesh from her forehead. The victim, 36-year-old Diana Gonzalez, was walking to a convenience store on September 18, 2026, when the incident occurred near 3rd Avenue and Marion Street.

According to police reports, the suspect, identified as Kamilia Chadli, initially threw a food wrapper at Gonzalez before escalating the confrontation with racial and homophobic slurs. Chadli allegedly spat on the victim and pulled her to the ground, where she bit a chunk of flesh approximately one inch in diameter from Gonzalez's forehead. Investigators reported finding a piece of the victim's flesh in a nearby grate.

Gonzalez required medical treatment and a skin graft to address the wound, and authorities stated she will be left with permanent scarring. Chadli was apprehended by Seattle police after a witness intervened and pursued her. She has been charged with felony second-degree assault and is being held on $150,000 bail.
