Sebastian Vettel made an emotional return to the Formula 1 paddock at Monza, driving Michael Schumacher’s iconic Ferrari F2002 as part of a tribute weekend organized by Ferrari. The demonstration, which included Vettel performing donuts for the Tifosi, commemorated the 30th anniversary of Schumacher’s first season with the team in 1996.

Vettel, who described Schumacher as his ‘childhood hero’, was visibly moved by the experience. He noted that while the car was a beautiful piece of machinery, it was primarily ‘Michael’s car’ and stated, ‘I felt him a lot in these laps.’ The tribute weekend also featured a demonstration run by Rubens Barrichello on Saturday.

The event served as a significant homage to the legacy of the seven-time world champion. Vettel expressed his deep continued passion for the sport, stating, ‘I know that I quit racing, but in my heart I’m still a lover.’
