Sebastião Salgado retrospective to open in Bassano del Grappa

The Museo Civico di Bassano del Grappa will host a major retrospective of the work of photographer Sebastião Salgado from October 24, 2026, to April 4, 2027. The exhibition, featuring over 160 images from the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP) collection in Paris, marks the first comprehensive look at his entire career in Italy, occurring one year after his death in 2025.

Lélia Wanick Salgado, the photographer's widow, discussed the legacy of their 61-year partnership and his impact on documentary photography. She highlighted his ability to capture the full spectrum of human experience, from the beauty of nature to the hardships of war and hunger. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa, MEP, and Silvana Editoriale.
