Brazil advances initiatives for female entrepreneurship and leadership

Brazil is seeing various initiatives aimed at strengthening female entrepreneurship, leadership, and industrial competitiveness. In the textile sector, SINDIVEST and FIRJAN met to discuss strategies for increasing national industry competitiveness through the exchange of experiences between different industrial hubs.

Legislative and social efforts are also underway. The Chamber of Deputies' Commission on Social Security approved a bill to create the 'Program for the Incentive to Hire Atypical Mothers,' offering tax benefits to companies that hire women responsible for children or adolescents with disabilities. Additionally, the National Observatory of Women in Politics celebrated five years of monitoring gender equality and political violence.

Educational and professional training programs are expanding. Sebrae is evaluating the expansion of the 'Sala da Mulher Empreendedora' model nationwide, while Sicoob is offering free training for women entrepreneurs in Jacobina. Other initiatives include NewCo’s 'Impulso Mulheres' program in São Paulo and the ProGestores webinar series focused on female leadership in public management. In Brasília, the UNECS promoted a dialogue between business leaders and presidential candidates to address female entrepreneurship and political representation.
