Sebrae expands entrepreneurship training in Brazil with Empretec course and international mission
The Sebrae office in Mato Grosso do Sul completed a five‑day Empretec program in Dourados from 13 to 17 July, providing 60 hours of immersion for 15 participants. The course focused on leadership, planning, persistence, goal‑setting, initiative, opportunity identification and decision‑making. Sebrae regional manager Marcus Faria described the training as “transformative for anyone who wants to become an entrepreneur,” while facilitator Iraci Metz highlighted its role in sharpening entrepreneurial behaviours. Participant Guilherme de Oliveira Ballenzuela, a tool‑shop owner, said the experience changed his management approach and emphasized the impact of goal‑setting.
In parallel, Sebrae / MT organized an international mission to Portugal for the Web Summit Lisboa 2026, scheduled for 7–14 November. The program offers 100 slots for Brazilian startups, with 15 reserved for companies from Mato Grosso. Innovation manager Leandro Gonçalves noted that the mission will connect participants with investors, large firms and European market trends, fostering business growth and internationalisation.
Both initiatives aim to strengthen entrepreneurial skills and expand Brazilian firms' global networks.
