SECI awards 1,000 MW renewable energy auction to seven developers

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has announced the results of an auction for 1,000 MW of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) Round-the-Clock (RTC) power. The tender, part of the Green Energy Corridor Phase III program, involves interstate transmission system-connected renewable energy projects integrated with energy storage systems.

Key winners of the tender include Juniper Green Energy Limited, which received the highest allocation of 300 MW at a tariff of Rs 5.26 per unit, and Hexa Climate Solutions Private Limited, awarded 150 MW at the same rate. Other successful developers include Kengeri Prime Solar Power Private Limited (180 MW), Resolven Four Energy Private Limited (150 MW), Hero Solar Energy Private Limited (120 MW), EMIF II Holding V II Coöperatief W. A. (100 MW), and Purvah Green Power Private Limited (70 MW), with the latter group securing a tariff of Rs 5.25 per unit. The total awarded capacity reached 1,070 MW.

In related regulatory developments, the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission adopted a tariff of ₹4.87/kWh for the procurement of 250 MW of FDRE, directing Torrent Power to execute a power purchase agreement with Torrent Green Energy.
