Second round of secondary school admissions launched in Czech districts of Benešov and Mělník

Secondary schools in the Czech districts of Benešov and Mělník have opened a second round of admissions for ninth‑grade students. Applications are accepted from 19 May to 25 May 2026, with results to be published on 23 June. Applicants may submit up to three choices for programmes without a talent exam, or up to two choices with a talent exam; the optional talent tests are held 8‑14 June.

In Benešov, schools now offer new technical, economic and modern fields such as CNC programming, mechatronics, furniture design, AI in agriculture, veterinary medicine and sustainable science streams. The region also includes vocational and agricultural schools with video‑based motivation submissions.

Mělník reports more than 250 free places across more than 20 specialisations, including mechanic, electrician, hotel management, gardening, and a lyceum programme. The greatest number of vacancies is in the mechanic‑machines and equipment track (19 places) and hotel services (24 places). Other schools in the area list openings in areas like hairdressing, chemical analysis and food technology.
