Security and oversight measures implemented in Mexican schools and Peruvian hospital

Educational authorities in the Central Region of Coahuila, Mexico, have implemented enhanced security and emotional support protocols in schools, particularly for secondary students. Following recent incidents in Torreón, schools are enforcing stricter access controls, such as closing gates by 8:00 AM and conducting regular patrols in coordination with municipal security. Additionally, teachers are being trained to identify mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and bullying, with cases being referred to DIF or PRONNIF for specialized follow-up.

In Puno, Peru, the Manuel Núñez Butrón Regional Hospital has installed 16 360-degree surveillance cameras to increase staff oversight. This measure follows an incident involving personnel allegedly found in a state of intoxication. The cameras operate 24 hours a day both inside the facility and at emergency exits. While administrative processes continue to determine individual responsibilities for past misconduct, the hospital administration stated the new system aims to prevent future incidents and provide evidence for investigations by the National Police of Peru.
