Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir thwart drone intrusion and recover grenades

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have reported two separate incidents involving explosives and aerial incursions. In the Baramulla district, a joint operation by police and paramilitary forces led to the recovery of two hand grenades from a man identified as Shakir Nabi Lone during a vehicle and pedestrian check in the Kunzer area.

In the Rajouri sector, the Indian Army intercepted a drone intrusion along the Line of Control (LoC). On the night of August 27-28, three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were detected entering Indian airspace near the Behrooti sector. Military personnel from the 22 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles tracked the drones as they maneuvered toward the Mangalnar-Dabrote axis. Counter-drone systems were activated, forcing the drones to retreat across the border. Security forces have placed the forward sector on high alert and intensified search operations to monitor for potential drops of arms, ammunition, or contraband.
