Security forces kill 21 militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa operations

Pakistani security forces killed at least 21 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij during multiple operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between September 3 and 5, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In North Waziristan, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, security forces killed 10 militants during an engagement on the night of August 31/September 1. This brought the total number of militants neutralized during infiltration attempts in that area to 25. An additional seven militants were killed in North Waziristan after their movement was detected near the border. Furthermore, four militants were killed in separate encounters in the Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan districts.

The ISPR stated that these incidents demonstrate the Afghan Taliban regime’s failure to prevent terrorist organizations from using Afghan soil for cross-border terrorism and to honor international counter-terrorism obligations. Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate remaining militants in the affected areas.
