Security forces on alert after suspected Pakistani drone sighting near LoC

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have been placed on high alert following the sighting of a suspected Pakistani drone near the Line of Control (LoC) on the night of August 28, 2026.

The drone was observed hovering over the Behruiti area in the Rajouri sector around 8:05 PM before moving toward the Mangnalar-Dabrot axis and eventually returning toward Pakistan. In response, the Indian Army and security agencies have launched extensive search operations in the area to determine if the drone dropped any suspicious items, such as weapons, ammunition, or narcotics.

In addition to the drone activity in Rajouri and Poonch, combined search operations involving the police, army, and paramilitary forces are ongoing in the forests of Udhampur, Kathua, and Rajouri following reports of suspicious activities. Security measures along the LoC have been significantly tightened to prevent any potential infiltration or further unauthorized aerial activity.
