Balochistan security operations kill militants amid human rights concerns
Pakistan security forces have conducted a series of intelligence-based operations across Balochistan under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3, resulting in the deaths of numerous militants. In one operation in the Panjgur district, five terrorists from the Fitna al-Hindustan group were killed, including a key commander identified as Wazir, son of Jamal. Other operations across districts such as Mastung, Bolan, Washuk, Awaran, Sibi, Khuzdar, Harnai, and Nushki reportedly killed 15 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the security forces for these actions, stating they disrupted militant plans and demonstrated a resolve to eliminate terrorism. A report from the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) noted that Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accounted for nearly 96% of Pakistan's violence-related fatalities during the second quarter of 2026.
Simultaneously, the Baloch National Movement's human rights department, Paank, has condemned a continuing pattern of enforced disappearances, custodial torture, and extrajudicial killings in the province. Paank highlighted the cases of four men—Inayat Ullah, Salman Bangulzai, Attahullah Baloch, and Haibatan—whose bodies were recovered after they had been forcibly disappeared. The organization described these incidents as a disturbing pattern of individuals being taken into custody without judicial oversight and later found dead.
