Security tightened in Rajouri district ahead of Budha Amarnath Yatra and Independence Day

Security forces have been deployed across Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir to safeguard the upcoming Shri Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra and the national Independence Day celebrations on August 15. Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Special Operations Group and other central agencies are positioned at strategic points to ensure the safety of thousands of pilgrims expected at the Swami Budha Amarnath Ji Mandir, located at Rajpura Mandi about 25 km northeast of Poonch. The temple, set at the confluence of the Nallah Gagri and Pulsta Nadi streams, houses a natural Shivlinga and draws devotees from across the country. Authorities continue to monitor the security situation and have reinforced presence at key locations. The 29th batch of pilgrims on the broader Amarnath Yatra also passed through Chanderkote in the neighboring Ramban district under similar security arrangements.
