Mexican social welfare programs deliver food and health aid to thousands

Various regional government agencies in Mexico are implementing social welfare and food security programs to support vulnerable populations.

In Puebla, the SEDIF conducted a comprehensive health and welfare mission in San Felipe Hueyotlipan, providing over 9,000 food baskets to more than 2,200 families. The initiative also included medical services such as dentistry, nutrition, and psychology, alongside financial support for caregivers of cancer patients.

In Puebla City, the DIF Puebla Capital distributed over 11,000 food supplies through the ‘Alimentación Imparable’ program, targeting thousands of beneficiaries across various auxiliary boards to bolster household economies.

In the State of Mexico, the DIFEM program ‘Nutrición y Bienestar Familiar’ delivers approximately 133,403 food baskets annually to individuals aged 2 to 64 facing food insecurity, supplemented by nutritional education and community gardening activities.
