Seeing Machines launches Physical AI Platform for robotics
Seeing Machines has launched a Physical AI Platform intended to enhance the contextual awareness of humanoid robots and industrial automation systems. The technology aims to allow machines to interact more safely and intuitively with humans by creating a dynamic three-dimensional perception map of people, objects, and their surroundings.
Building on over 25 years of research into human factors and artificial intelligence, the platform enables robots to understand spatial relationships, interpret human behavior, and anticipate risks in real time. This approach differs from traditional AI by interpreting the environment as a unified scene rather than just identifying individual objects.
CEO Paul McGlone noted that the launch represents an evolution of the company's work in human-machine interaction. Seeing Machines' existing driver and occupant monitoring technology is currently utilized in more than eight million vehicles globally. The new platform is expected to find applications in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare.
