Sefa seizes R$ 1.1 million in beer shipments in Pará

Tax authorities from the Pará State Secretariat of Finance (Sefa) seized three shipments of beer valued at approximately R$ 1.1 million during a fiscal inspection in São Geraldo do Araguaia. The operation, conducted on Sunday, October 25, targeted vehicles transporting 269ml cans originating from Alagoas.

The inspection identified irregularities regarding the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS). Specifically, the tax due via tax substitution was underpaid in all three cases. In two of the shipments destined for Marabá, the declared invoice value of approximately R$ 0.41 per can was significantly lower than market rates, prompting officials to use a weighted average price for recalculation.

The seized goods were destined for the municipalities of Altamira and Marabá. The movement of the cargo had been monitored by the Traffic Monitoring Center (Cemotran) using electronic tax documents and transit system imagery. Authorities issued seizure and deposit terms totaling R$ 439,812.58 in unpaid taxes and fines.
