Sega introduces Sonic the Hedgehog variant to Fortnite

Sega has introduced a specific variant of Sonic the Hedgehog to Fortnite to facilitate the character's inclusion in the game's Chapter 7, Season 4, titled ‘Override’.

Takashi Iizuki, president of Sega's Sonic Team, noted that the collaboration required a modified version of the character because Sega insisted that Sonic must never use firearms. Since firearms are a standard element of Fortnite gameplay, developers at Epic Games created a unique version of the character that remains recognizable to fans while adhering to Sega's brand guidelines regarding the character's kid-friendly nature.
