SEGA reveals Crazy Taxi: World Tour details at Gamescom 2026

SEGA is reviving its classic franchise with Crazy Taxi: World Tour, which was featured in previews at Gamescom 2026. Marking the series' 27th anniversary, this is the first new entry in the franchise in many years.

Moving away from the closed tracks of the original, the new title adopts an open-world format. A playable level showcased at the event is set in a location inspired by Germany, featuring diverse environments such as an airport, a city center, an old town, mountains, and an autobahn. The setting includes thematic elements like Gothic cathedrals and wind turbines.

The game introduces a dynamic day-night cycle, allowing players to change the time of day through a menu. While the art style shifts from the highly stylized look of the original toward a more realistic aesthetic, the core gameplay maintains the high-energy atmosphere and iconic soundtrack, featuring artists such as The Offspring and Bad Religion.
