SEGA showcases Crazy Taxi: World Tour demo at Gamescom 2026

SEGA showcased a demo for the upcoming reboot, Crazy Taxi: World Tour, at Gamescom 2026. The playable portion featured a solo mode called ‘Crazy Rush’ set in a map inspired by Germany, including recognizable landmarks such as a gothic cathedral and an airport.

The gameplay includes various maneuvers like ‘Crazy Dash’, ‘Crazy Stop’, and ‘Crazy Drift’, alongside secondary missions known as ‘Odd Jobs’. Multiplayer modes are planned for the final release, including ‘Pickup Race’ for up to six players and a ‘Police against Taxi’ team-based mode.

While the demo maintains the series' core mechanics of transporting passengers quickly, some feedback regarding the control scheme has emerged. Critics noted that traditional gear shifting has been replaced by more standardized driving controls and that signature tricks have been simplified to dedicated button presses.
