Seiya Suzuki ranked 7th in MLB free agent rankings

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki has been ranked 7th in the upcoming free agent rankings, according to CBS Sports. The 32-year-old is being recognized for his consistent hitting, specifically noting that he is one of only four qualified hitters to record an OPS+ of 125 or higher for four consecutive seasons.

In addition to his offensive production, which included 26 home runs and 86 RBIs this season, Suzuki has shown significant improvement in defensive play. Analysts noted his transition from an average defender to an elite one, aided by coaching improvements to his first step.

While the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies are considered strong candidates for his services, reports from Heavy suggest the Los Angeles Dodgers may also have interest. Data from Spotrac estimates a potential contract value of approximately 110 million dollars over four years. The free agency period faces potential uncertainty due to a looming labor lockout.
