Selena Gomez faces fraud lawsuit over Wondermind startup
Selena Gomez, her mother Mandy Teefey, and former business partner Daniella Pierson are facing a federal fraud lawsuit in Delaware filed by investors in their mental health startup, Wondermind. The plaintiffs, including Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC, are seeking the return of approximately $1.2 million in investments.
The lawsuit alleges that the founders misrepresented the company’s infrastructure and prospects. Specifically, investors claim they were promised partnerships with institutions like J.P. Morgan and Fidelity that did not exist, and that a planned mobile application was never developed. The complaint further alleges that Gomez failed to fulfill her contractual obligations to serve as the head of marketing and actively build the company.
Investors contend they were kept unaware of the company’s financial and operational decline for three years, only learning of the struggles following media reports in 2025. Gomez’s attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, has dismissed the allegations as ‘completely meritless, both factually and legally,’ and announced intentions to file a motion to dismiss the claims.
