Wondermind Global fraud lawsuit

Overview

A federal lawsuit has been filed in Delaware against Selena Gomez, her mother Mandy Teefey, and former business partner Daniella Pierson regarding the mental health startup Wondermind Global.

Investors, including Wondermind SRS 44 LLC and Bespoke Wondermind LLC, allege they were defrauded of approximately $1.2 million in 2022. The plaintiffs claim the founders made false representations concerning the company’s financial health, infrastructure, and growth prospects, including a purported $95 million valuation and promised partnerships with firms such as JPMorgan Chase and Fidelity. The complaint specifically alleges that Gomez failed to fulfill her contractual obligation to serve as head of marketing, an act described as an “abject dereliction of her duties.” Plaintiffs assert they only became aware of the company’s “state of utter disarray” following investigative reports in 2025.

In response, Gomez’s attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, has dismissed the claims as “completely meritless, both factually and legally” and “absurd.” Gomez has filed a motion in Delaware federal court to dismiss the case, arguing that she was a minority shareholder and consultant holding the title of Chief Impact Officer, rather than a member of the management team or the board of directors. The defense maintains that Gomez had no involvement in the company’s securities offerings or daily financial management and should not be held liable. Gomez’s legal team is also exploring potential sanctions against the plaintiffs for improperly including her in the litigation. Daniella Pierson has also categorically denied the allegations, stating she will present financial records to demonstrate transparency.
