Selena Gomez attributes voice changes to nicotine vaping
Singer and actress Selena Gomez has revealed that heavy nicotine vaping has permanently altered her voice. In a candid video shared via Instagram Stories, the 34-year-old artist stated, “I’m not gonna be able to change my voice. I vaped nicotine a lot.”
Gomez used her platform to warn followers about the difficulties of nicotine addiction, describing the habit as “so stupid” and emphasizing that it is “not worth it.” While she expressed excitement about having recently quit, she acknowledged that maintaining sobriety from nicotine is a significant challenge.
The singer has previously addressed fan speculation regarding her changing vocal tone. In December, she attributed occasional throat swelling to her chronic autoimmune disease, lupus. However, she now explicitly links the long-term changes in her vocal quality to her history of vaping. Her comments come amid ongoing medical scrutiny regarding the long-term respiratory and vocal health effects of electronic cigarettes.
